SAUNA WM 2011
This weekend the third Sauna World Cup took place, this time in Graz. For two days candidates from twelve different nations fought for the titel "Sauna World Champion 2011".
For those who really like to sweat, this event is one you must not have missed: you could enjoy a wide variety of sauna “Aufguss”, steam room infusions, “Aufguss” courses, and a midnight sauna with live music. Austria, Germany, Italy, England, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Bosnia, Colombia, China, Russia and USA competed against each other and outplayed themselves with shows such as "The Aufguss of Arab women" or "Gladiator Aufguss." Helmut Haller thrilled the audience with his “Inca Aufguss” and took the win.The criterion is not the length of the Sauna Aufguss or how long you can stay in the Sauna. Pleasure is the main goal, the enjoyment and indulgence, and the technique of waving the towel in the sauna.
The "Powerwacheln" is the fun competition of the Sauna WM. The goal is to generate the highest wind speed with a conventional towel. The generated wind speed is measured by a anemometer: The winner is Alberto Longon from Italy with a wind speed of 7,9 m/s.
